WHEN JUSTICE BECOMES A SHAFT

justice becomes injustice

From the streets

Voices cry out in groans that roar out from their belly
High hopes that someone would hear and come to their aid
That the one that promised to protect
Will keep their words and do as promised
But as days goes by, the hopes drop as no one ever came

povertyWhy do the higher ups forget so soon
That the reason that they are up there
Is to fight for the lower downs
How soon they forget, that the power they wield
Is not a weapon to kill the spirits
Of those that they are meant to protect
But they are tools meant to protect the fragility of humanity?

The effects

forgotten beggars on the street
As days goes by and months flew in its wake
The hope of those in the streets dwindle
The light dims in their eyes and eventually goes out
Their legs drag on
Because the essence of living
Has been taken away by those meant to preserve it

The quality of life is reduced from one meal to none
When did the protector become the villain?
When did the protected become the victim?
When did justice become injustice?
When did justice become a shaft?

The results

injustice to the people
Welcome to a society
Where independence is just a word
That lacks the representation of its meaning
A facade that belies the incongruous nature
Of a society that is broken
yearning for healing

On their bodies, the victims of injustice
Bear the scars of the shaft justice has become
In their minds the indelible mark men in power left
Their spirits broken because none above
Understood that power has a mind of its own
It takes a man of character to wield it
And still be in control
A society where justice has become a shaft
Where lies the future of it?

  1. Food for thought for all. I just pray God actually touch the minds of our leaders. We can have the change we so much desire if the fear of God can truly be 'First Class' in our hearts unlike the ' Pass' most of us possess. The time to take the right steps was yesterday.

    1. Thanks for the comment, yes i like the word "Minds" every leader was once a follower and in the long run we are all responsible for the change we are always clamoring for. It's time for a mind-shift.

  2. We all are responsible to so extent for what ever happens in our society. To the best of my knowledge, I always believe in " planning, detecting, observing, testing and realizing before time. In that way we have higher chances to solve problems before we are been affected...early detection is key to survive..
